Toddlers

12 - 36 months

In our toddler classrooms, we create a warm and welcoming environment where little ones can feel safe, confident, and excited to learn. A predictable daily routine helps toddlers feel secure, while outdoor play and time with friends support their growing physical, social, and emotional skills.

Our teachers focus on building caring relationships with each child while providing healthy meals and gentle guidance that encourages independence as toddlers begin exploring the world around them. Throughout the day, children take part in both planned activities and spontaneous moments of learning—practicing fine motor skills, socializing with peers, and discovering letters, numbers, colors, and shapes through play.

We also love spending time outside whenever the weather allows, giving toddlers plenty of space to move, explore, and have fun. During this stage, we begin gently introducing potty training, working together with families to support each child when they’re ready.

Meals & Snacks

At Little Sprouts of Idaho, we provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks at scheduled times each day to help create a consistent routine for the children. All meals follow the USDA food program guidelines and are carefully planned to provide balanced, nutritious options that help fuel growing bodies and minds.

If your child has any allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know. We’re happy to work with families to make the appropriate arrangements so every child can eat safely and comfortably.

What to Bring

Parents and guardians are asked to provide diapers, wipes, and any creams or ointments their child may need. Each toddler should also have two changes of clothing, clearly labeled with their full name, so we’re prepared for any spills or messy play throughout the day. Please also send a blanket for your child to use during nap time to help them feel comfortable and cozy while they rest.

Our days are full of fun activities, crafts, and outdoor play, so clothing may get a little messy. We recommend sending your child in comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.

Daily Schedule

Each day is filled with a balance of care, play, and learning. Children enjoy meals and snacks, restful nap time, and plenty of opportunities for dynamic play throughout the day. Our activities include music, dancing, arts and crafts, puzzles, story time, and outdoor play when the weather allows.

We focus on encouraging positive interactions between children while creating fun opportunities to learn through play and exploration. For our older toddlers, we also begin supporting potty training, working together with families to help each child succeed when they are ready.
